Rene's older brother was 50 this week. The family had one daughter and three sons. This picture was taken at our wedding dinner - the two silver napkin rings were a great look. An enlarged photo of this very picture was posted at the end of Huub's street by Claartje and Jack, his Dutch based siblings. One thing I noticed in The Netherlands was the very public announcing of family events - like birthdays, births, graduations etc. It's very lovely indeed.

Enjoyed your blog as usual, Owen. A relaxing weekend on the sunlounge sounds lovely. And isnt the weather great! My favourite time of year!
We went to a farmhouse called Katandra in a place called The Lost Valley, south of Beaudesert, tucked under the mountains below O'Reilley's for the long weekend. Gorgeous place! We roasted potatoes in the coals, paddled in the creek, made billy tea on an open fire, no tv or phone coverage so had a "dance" with the grandchildren on Saturday night, then Charades for the adults. Great fun! Cheers.
