Welcome to 2010! This post will be short since I don't have a lot of time, but I am making myself do this before the weekend is up.
We celebrated Christmas in France with family, we celebrated New Year in The Netherlands with friends and in between we got married. Yes, we actually tied the knot one month ago.
Add to that a week in Spain with, amongst other things, the first snow in Seville in 54 years plus three days in fascinating Taipei on the way home, and you have one wonderful and memorable month abroad.
I'd love to add many pictures, but for now I'll add a few here and more at the end of the week in some on line album.
I have to tell you that the wedding was far more significant and wonderful than I could have ever imagined. In fact both Rene and I were taken aback slightly by just how fabulous, exciting and happy the day was. Thanks go to the family in The Netherlands, especially my sister in law Claartje and her husband Jan who took care of the fine points organising the event locally - plus they were our witnesses. The official from the local government in Son en Breugel, Lia, was also brilliant in the way she matched humour with formality, English segments with Dutch. I felt very included and we both loved the room where we were married.
Do I feel blessed? You bet! Do I feel fortunate? Absolutely! Do I feel loved and welcomed by my new family? Certainly! Add the most wonderful husband in the world and I have every reason to be grinning like a Cheshire cat in every picture.
